Analysis of the industrial use of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose

Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose high-end products for the replacement of polyanionic cellulose ((PAC) is a kind of anionic cellulose ether, has a higher degree of substitution and replace the uniformity of the molecular chain is shorter, more stable molecular structure, so it has better resistance to salt, acid, calcium, high temperature resistant properties. The solubility is enhanced. The application of carboxymethyl cellulose in all industries can provide better stable performance and meet the higher process requirements. Carboxymethyl cellulose is a white flocculent powder, non-toxic tasteless, stable performance, easy to dissolve in water, its water solution is neutral or alkaline transparent viscous liquid, soluble in water soluble glue and resin, not soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol. CMC can be used as adhesive, thickener, suspending agent, emulsifier, dispersant, stabilizer, sizing agent, etc..  

Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is the most widely used and most convenient product in the cellulose ether. It is also called "industrial monosodium glutamate" ".

1, for oil and gas drilling wells, engineering etc.

High viscosity, high degree of substitution of CMC is suitable for low density mud, low viscosity and high degree of substitution of CMC for large density of mud. Selection of CMC shall be determined according to different conditions of mud type and area, well depth, etc..

2, for the textile printing and dyeing industry, the textile industry will be CMC as sizing agent for cotton, wool, silk, chemical fiber, blended fabric sizing gauze;

3, for the paper industry CMC in the paper industry can be used as paper smoothing agent, sizing agent. Adding 0.3% to 0.1% of CMC in the pulp can enhance the tensile strength of paper from 50% to 40%, and the compressive strength increases by 50%, and the kneading increases 4 ~ 5 times.  

4, CMC added as dirt adsorbent in synthetic detergent; daily chemical such as glycerin water solution CMC toothpaste industry is used as a gum base toothpaste; pharmaceutical industry as a thickener and emulsifier; CMC aqueous solution viscosity for flotation etc..

5, for the ceramic industry can be used as blank adhesive, plasticizer, glaze suspending agent, fixing agent etc..
